This machine will providde accurate, dependable performance for small lot cleaning, testing or sampling. It is commonly used in seed plants for sampling large lots of seed for correct screen selection on larger, commercial size cleaners. It is also widely used in university laboratories for agronomy research and testing and flower and vegetable growers use the Model 400 for specialised cleaning, grading and sizing.

The Model 400 has a compact, portable design and features an eccentric (shoe) drive that the uses two 10″ x 15″ screens. One top screen for scalping, one bottom screen for cleaning and grading. Perforated metal or wire cloth screens are available in over 175 different sizes. Other features include a powerful bottom blast fan driven by a three-step pulley, adjustable side on the air intake openings to provide intermediate air regulation and an optional removable catchall with either removable trays (shown) or solid bottom to catch air screenings.

The DCM 10 can de-culm 10 x 200 gms individual malted barley samples at the same time. Loading and unloading of the DCM 10 without sample mixing is achieved with the DCM 10 switched off and the de-culming chamber inverted. Individual sample containers with up to 200 gms of malted barley are screwed upright into the de-culming chamber cover, which is divided into 10 individual chambers. The DCM 10 is started and the de-culming chamber turned upright. This feeds the 10 rotors all at the same time and after a pre-determined time, the de-culming chamber is inverted again and the de-culmed samples return to their individual sample container.

De-culming of the dried malted barley in the 10 individual cylinder chambers is achieved by rubber tipped rotors gently rubbing the malted barley against the inner wall of the stainless steel wire mesh cylinder leaving the de-culmed malted barley inside the individual cylinder chambers. Afte de-culming, the individual samples are returned to the individual containers from which tey were loaded ready for further laboratory testing.

The ears are inserted from the top into the safety funnel of the thresher / grinder. When closing the flap, the ears automatically fall into the thresher chamber. Here, grains, awns, husks and spindle are detached from each other.

The intensity of this threshing process is dependent on the speed of the thresher rotor, the speed of which is infinitely variable.

After actuation of the bottom flap, the thus resolved ear parts fall into the vibrating chute and are then fed evenly to the air stream of the ascending sifter (infinitely variable).

Here, a separation into light and heavy parts and dust as well as spelled parts are deposited and collected in the expansion chamber.

The Sifter Mini 40 is also suitable as a sifter for all types of crops without an ear follower and is ideal for use in the laboratory for the processing of small samples (up to 100 – 1000g).

An ear is placed from above into the safety of the funnels. When closing the door the ear automatically falls into the thresher chamber. Here grains awns, husks and spindle are threshed from each other.

The intensity of this threshing is dependent on the speed of the thresher rotor whose rotational speed is continuously variable. Upon actuation of the bottom flap, the threshed seed fall into the controllable stream of air, where separation into light and heavy components takes place. Dust and husks are lifted and deposited in the expansion chamber and collected in one container. The heavy component falls through the air stream into a second container.
